My architectural Illustration – The Process

My architectural illustration project is depiction of a real life building , located in New Orleans ,LA. i had took a trip there last summer , and was inspired by the architecture there. i really enjoy the architecture of historical buildings, so really wanted to recreate that for this Project instead of picking modern Architecture.

Looking for Inspiration

First i had to find reference photos that i wanted to base my illustration on. i took many photos myself while i was in New Orleans but unfortunately i had to end with using an image from a different photographer , with a more professional shot.

Getting started in adobe illustrator.

First i just put the image in adobe got the basic color and frame of the building, then i created all the doors, windows then i work of an image Design for the railings for the building to match the the building, and i used the perspective tool to put all the doors, windows and rails into place using the perspective tool in adobe illustrator. this we definitely the hardest part, making sure that everything was in perspective and that it was getting distorted. all and it got through it was one of my favorite projects i have done.
